Vacation pay
Interim:
For those working through temp contract, vacation pay can be paid in weekly paycheck (White-Collar) or once a year (Blue-collar), depending on the sector that you work in.
Blue-Collar Workers:
Blue-collar workers typically receive holiday money equivalent to 15.38% of their gross annual earnings from the previous calendar year. Holiday money for blue-collar workers is typically paid out in May or June.
White-Collar Workers:
White-collar workers, on the other hand, receive their holiday pay differently. Instead of a fixed percentage of their annual salary, white-collar workers receive their full normal salary during their annual leave and added amount in the summer months.
How to check your holiday days?
Being aware of your vacation days is very important! This way you know how many days you have left, and you can plan when you would like to use them. You can always request your vacation attestation through RJV or ONVA. It is also only if you have already worked in Belgium in the past year.

When you just start working and have not yet accrued days to take leave, no stress! That is what the youth vacation is for, you can take vacation and the RVA/ONEM will pay you 65% of your salary. However, there are certain conditions you must meet. More interesting information can be found here: https://www.rva.be/burgers/verlof/hebt-u-recht-op-de-jeugdvakantie
