Job description

As a marine electrician, you are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems aboard various types of vessels. This includes work on industrial wiring, switchboards, heavy motors, and high-voltage systems.

Main responsibilities:

  • Performing maintenance and repair work on ship electrical systems.

  • Diagnosing electrical faults and problems and effectively resolving them.

  • Installing and testing new electrical equipment and systems.

  • Inspecting electrical installations to ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.

  • Assisting in inspections and testing of electrical systems as part of general ship repairs.

  • Collaborating with other technical departments to ensure smooth repair projects.


Your profile

Job requirements:

  • At least a diploma in electrical engineering or a comparable technical education.

  • Experience as an electrician, preferably within the maritime sector.

  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with heavy engines and high-voltage systems.

  • Qualification and experience in working with electrical systems on ships.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with maritime safety requirements and standards.

  • Team player with good communication skills.

  • Willingness to work in the port of Zeebrugge.
