Accent Foreign
Specialist in international talent
Of the more than 25,000 people Accent provides employment for every day, 30% have a foreign background. To assist this large group in the best possible way, we have established specialist Accent Foreign offices since 2008. With Accent Foreign, we bridge the gap between bottleneck professions that are slow to be filled and the many foreign talents inside and outside Belgium who are looking for a stable and financially appealing job. Due to their training and experience, foreign employees are often employable immediately.
Onboarding newcomers to Belgium
We already have more than 60 Accent Foreign offices in Belgium, run entirely by foreign-language consultants, who guide foreign-language speakers in at least 12 different languages in their search for a job in Belgium. They know better than anyone what additional things and services are needed to successfully guide our foreign candidates and our clients through this process. We do this based on the belief that a job is an important part of the integration process for newcomers. Employees who start work through Accent Foreign are employed in full compliance with Belgian legislation and administration.
Accent Foreign provides:
- Administrative follow-up and 24/7 support
- Guidance in the candidate’s native language where possible
- Assistance with medical and SCC examinations
- Organisation of work permits
- Assistance with and advice on registering at the town hall, rental agreements, mobility, opening bank accounts, taking out health insurance, applying for the child benefit, etc.
International talent
Besides specialist Foreign offices in Belgium, where we guide people who have newly arrived in Belgium, we also actively recruit in other countries. We now already have offices in Portugal, Poland and Romania as well as collaboration agreements with partners in 9 additional countries, including Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Bulgaria. In 2021, this allowed us to attract 484 international talents.
Employers gain from diversity
Diversified teams that are well managed perform better than homogeneous teams. In fact, more diversity in the workplace leads to better business results, more creativity and faster innovation. In addition, the number of vacancies in all the different Belgian regions is much higher than the number of jobseekers who are out of work. This skills shortage in the labour market makes motivated foreign talents very valuable.
