As an assistant chef, you provide support to the head chef. You are responsible for the mise-en-place and preparation of dishes according to recipe sheets. Additionally, you monitor the inventory and identify any shortages (stock management). You check the delivered services and products and supervise the preparation of dishes under the direction of the head chef. You carry out the plating and presentation of dishes, applying the necessary checks. Furthermore, you monitor the compliance with work procedures and the rules for hygiene and food safety (FAVV). You check food items for freshness and preparation and assist in coordinating daily operations. Finally, you have an eye for the profitability of the business.
