Job description

Within the vacancy of gem setter on jewellery in Kortrijk, you will be responsible for the following tasks:


  • Stone setting is the fixing of precious stones, semi-precious stones and diamonds in usually rings and various pieces of jewellery. Setting the stones is a profession in itself and requires the right tools and attention

  • You will work in the workshop together with a team of about 10 people

  • Schedule is negotiable



Your profile

For the job as a gem setter you have the following profile:

  • ideally, you have had an education in gemstonesetting

  • you are prepared to do workshop work in a daytime regime

  • you can express yourself fluently in Dutch, French or English

  • you work with a microscope, detailed and meticulous

  • you can work independently as no training is provided


Company information

Our client is a manufacturer for jewellers, started in the 1970s.
It is a small family business with about 10 employees. There is a pleasant atmosphere among colleagues and the seniority of the employees certainly confirms this. You are treated as anything but a number.

The company is closed for 4 weeks during the summer months.
Just before the Christmas period, things can get busy here.
Other leave days are taken on bridge days and there is always an extra week of leave in May too.

Furthermore, the company is perfectly accessible by public transport.
