For the job of security guard in Ghent, our client provides full-time employment as a labourer, job option permanent. After a 6-month temporary period and a positive evaluation, there will be a move to a permanent contract.

This is a full-time job of 37 hours per week with a shift system (early from 6am-14pm / late from 2pm-22pm / night from 10pm-6am). Weekend work and working on public holidays included.

The flexibility they require from you is also reflected in the salary package. Your gross monthly salary will be allocated according to the legal provisions of Joint Committee 317. This takes into account certificates already obtained and age. In addition, there are shift bonuses, meal vouchers and assistance for health care...

There will also be a nice training programme of +/- 3 months during which you will get to know all the hidden corners of the site and take a closer look at the technical installations.

Job description

The job of security guard in Ghent consists of reception at the various entry points. You act as the first point of contact for visitors and suppliers.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • in case of alarms, you react appropriately and efficiently by correctly assessing the situation

  • you carry out control rounds where you scan your environment for suspicious situations

  • at the entrances of the site, you carry out access checks where you register the visitors and suppliers and you create a badge

  • you carry out checks via camera images and take action if necessary

  • in case of unforeseen circumstances (e.g. defective gate, IT problems, etc.) you intervene with an eye on the safety of visitors and the site

  • key management

  • checks the technical systems on the site (e.g. sprinklers), you adjust these systems where necessary so that no problems occur



You will join a team of 6 people who are well coordinated.

Your profile

There are a number of things that are very important to qualify for this job as a security guard in Ghent.


  • As security is a priority, possessing the basic security certificate is decisive.

  • You also have a driving licence B.

  • As this is a brand new site, our client requires some experience as a security guard.

  • You can make yourself understood in Dutch and English. You will have a lot of social contact in an international environment. Daring to speak some French is also a big plus.

  • Working in a full-time system with weekend and holiday work does not put you off. You are very flexible.

  • This job also involves some administrative tasks. For this, some knowledge of the Office package is useful.



According to our client, a good security guard is someone who is attentive, has good verbal skills and is very patient.
