As a tanker truck driver, you are responsible for the safe, timely and customer-oriented transport of Bitumen to asphalt plants and roofing manufacturers. Bitumen is an ADR product that is transported between 160-220 degrees in a trailer with 1 compartment. Loading or unloading takes about an hour and there are no long waiting times.
After a thorough induction period, you will be assigned a truck and tanker trailer with which you will drive an average of 2500-3000 kilometers per week. You will be away from home for the entire week or part of the week and travel through Western Europe. The products are mainly loaded at refineries and unloaded at different locations. No day will be the same at this family business. It will be your challenge to supply our customers.
The company was founded in 1934 in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, by Aris Verduyn and started with sand transport.
It soon expanded into the transport and spraying of bitumen. In 1965, the second generation took over with Joop Verduyn, after which the growth continued with a branch in Belgium to better serve Northwestern Europe.
In 1997, the third generation, Arjo Verduyn, took over the helm. Under his leadership, the company was further modernized and expanded with the transport of fuel, containers and bromine.
The company has grown into a family business with an international organization. The activities in Belgium were strengthened and the traffic, planning and administration for Northwestern Europe were centrally established there, while the headquarters remained in Hoofddorp.
In 2007, the company opened a branch with planning and administration in Constanta, Romania. From this location, Central and Eastern Europe are served.
