Job description

Is hospitality your passion? Do you have experience behind the bar and want to take the next step in your career? Make the decision to become a bar manager.

Your responsibilities include:

Serving customers: taking orders, serving drinks, and handling payments.
Preparing beverages: pouring beers, making hot drinks, crafting cocktails.
Opening and closing the establishment.
Preparing and/or finishing simple snacks.
Keeping your workspace tidy.
Assisting part-time employees and flexible staff.
Playing music (blues, roots, jazz, etc.): a good bartender is also an enthusiastic DJ.

Your profile

Being a bar manager in a popular bar is not for everyone. Check the following list to see if you have what we are looking for:

You have a good physical condition (long days and nights).
You have at least 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry.
You have good knowledge of cocktails and spirits.
You have an eye for creating ambiance.
You can work independently.
You are customer-oriented and friendly.
You are an asset to the team because you are open, loyal, and respectful.
You are proactive. You never walk around empty-handed because you always notice something that needs to be cleaned or served.
Lastly, you must enjoy the type of music played in this blues/roots/jazz club.

The company we are looking to hire for is a blues and roots club, a jazz bar, and a concert venue located in the historic center of Ghent. Entertainment is guaranteed! In a beautiful, authentic building, they run a café the way it should be. The interior exudes nostalgia, with impressive photos and cozy salon elements creating a delightful 21st-century blues café where it is great to hang out. They serve delicious drinks and snacks. Every week, they organize various events: concerts, poetry evenings, jam sessions, DJ sets, dance nights, swing afternoons, book presentations, and more.
