Job description

As a Calibration Fitter at our client's site, you will be responsible for :


  • Straightening metal parts by placing them under stress (vice) and hitting them with a hammer, so as to realign them in an acceptable axis

  • Precise straightening of steel parts of various dimensions to ensure a perfect fit with the moulds

  • Master finishing techniques such as deburring and grinding to obtain precise fits

  • Interpret the drawings of the mechanical components assigned to you

  • Check and adjust parts as necessary

  • Use traditional tools and measuring instruments such as callipers, grinders, drills, metrology equipment, etc.

  • Assemble parts in accordance with specifications

  • Use a hoist judiciously to handle parts when necessary


Your profile

As a Calibration Fitter with our client, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualities:


  • A thorough and meticulous approach to the execution of tasks, reflecting rigorous precision

  • A high degree of manual dexterity and ability to handle parts accurately and produce meticulous finishes

  • Solid experience in the use of measuring instruments and metrology to ensure the accuracy of fits

  • Ability to work effectively in a sometimes rustic and dusty environment without compromising the quality of the work

  • Good knowledge of mechanical assembly, including the use of mallets, hammers, touch-up tools and presses.

  • Good knowledge of simple (basic) metrology, including the use of callipers and protractors.

  • Ideally, be able to read a 2D drawing (optional, but a plus)

  • Willingness to work a schedule with 2 or 3 breaks, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the job

  • Strong interest in the complexity of mechanical parts and curiosity about the field of metallurgy

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and quickly interpret the required specifications
