Job description

As a CE/C driver for our client, your main tasks will be to..:


  • Transporting a variety of steel parts, including beams, threaded rods, grids and mesh, of different sizes and shapes.

  • Driving a category C lorry, initially with a central cab, and from June 2024, a category CE lorry. The truck with a C permit has a steel spread on each side of the truck, as well as an overhang of up to 2.5 metres

  • Carry out the slinging of metal parts, including those up to 18 metres long, with a view to their subsequent movement using a crane

  • Unload the lorry using an integrated, remote-controlled crane

  • Complete the administrative documents relating to the transport

  • Secure loads to ensure stability during the journey

  • Establish contact with site workers, adopting a professional approach

  • Ensure that loads are securely lashed down during transport

  • Receive initial training from an experienced driver

  • It's worth noting that driving lorries can be demanding, especially when it comes to handling imposing metal beams, which can be up to 14 metres long

  • Driving a 25-tonne lorry, particularly with loads up to 12 metres long, can present additional challenges compared with more conventional vehicles


Your profile

For the position of CE/C driver with our client, we are looking for the following skills:


  • Hold a CE driving licence and be in good standing with the CAP (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle) as well as the medical screening. (Or hold a C driving licence and be in the process of obtaining an EC driving licence). The EC driving licence will be required from June 2024

  • Be comfortable using a crane for loading and unloading materials, as this will be an integral part of your responsibilities

  • Demonstrate punctuality and an ability to organise routes efficiently, once the customers to be served have been identified

  • Be able to work in, and enjoy, a metal environment which may occasionally be exposed to dust and dirt

  • Be comfortable with the physical aspects of the job, including getting on and off the truck to strap parts to the crane hook, which may require some physical stamina
