Job description

For this vacancy as a groundworker in the Diest region, our client is looking for someone to complete the existing team. You will perform the following tasks on a daily basis:

  • you will leave every morning from our client's warehouse in Diest;

  • the various sites are located from the Diest region up to and including the Dijleland behind Leuven;

  • your working day starts between 6 a.m. and 6.30 a.m;

  • you will work in a team with one other colleague;

  • together you will carry out all preparatory earthworks for turnkey houses and flats under the company's own management;

  • you carry out these works on the basis of architectural and technical plans;

  • you carry out all kinds of excavation work;

  • you carry out foundation works;

  • you work manually with the shovel;

  • you also work with the crawler crane (of at least 18 tons);

  • you will also work as a helper alongside the crane;

  • you prepare floor slabs;

  • for this you carry out preparatory earthworks;

  • pulling/digging trenches;

  • cutting power bends;

  • placing driveways;

  • you lay driveways;

  • just laying the clinkers and levelling the ground;

  • you dig manholes;

  • you lay utility lines;

  • you dig out cases (to build driveways, for example);

  • you lay terraces;

  • you place house connections;

  • you take care of all equipment provided;

  • you are always friendly to residents and customers;

  • you help your colleague where necessary;

  • you use common sense and always put safety first on the site.


Your profile

Our client is looking for a groundworker region Diest who is highly motivated to get started. In this position, you may recognise yourself in the following points:

  • you will independently get to the warehouse in Diest every morning;

  • there is a possibility of obtaining a van to transport you independently directly to and from the sites;

  • you are someone who likes working outdoors;

  • you like working in a small team;

  • if your colleague is on the road with the truck to further supply the site, you do not mind working alone on the site for a while;

  • you like doing physical work;

  • you can describe yourself as a no-nonsense hard worker;

  • it would be a plus if you already have experience with a crane;

  • you are flexible towards different hours;

  • you are punctual and on time;

  • you are a planter who first tries to solve problems independently;

  • you are flexible towards different sites;

  • you are someone who handles material and tools responsibly;

  • you are flexible towards different distances;

  • you are a fan of open and honest communication;

Our client with this vacancy of excavator in the Diest region is a well-known player in the world of construction within the Flemish Brabant region. With a whole team of experienced employees, they pound out turnkey projects. Every year, they carry out some 42 projects in various building styles. They always put quality above quantity, though.
