Job description
As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for the optimal functioning of everything related to the kitchen. Here is what your role will entail:
- Designing and compiling a menu that includes international and local dishes, while responding to culinary trends
- Leading, training, and motivating the kitchen team to achieve high standards
- Ensuring the consistency and quality of all dishes by regularly tasting and providing feedback, making sure all dishes meet company standards
- Managing the procurement of ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to secure the best prices
- Preparing and managing the kitchen budget, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability without compromising on quality
- Supervising and adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations to comply with legal requirements and ensure a safe working environment
- Actively responding to feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Incorporating seasonal and local ingredients into the menu to provide a sustainable and authentic culinary experience
Your profile
For this challenging role, we are looking for someone with the following skills:
- At least 3 years of experience as a chef in restaurants focusing on international cuisines
- Excellent culinary skills and the ability to create innovative and appealing menus
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Outstanding communication skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house colleagues
- Thorough knowledge of and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
- Ability to work in a dynamic and diverse environment
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction, with a proactive attitude to process and respond to feedback
- Proficiency in managing budgets and cost control without compromising the quality of dishes and ingredients
