Job description

For the vacancy of Operator, you will be responsible for the metal furnace in the foundry. We are looking for a candidate with a lot of enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn this process and a 100% commitment.

Your duties as a metal furnace operator are as follows:

  • Making melting calculations at the furnace for different materials

  • Setting and monitoring the oven's heat level

  • Casting/moulding of iron and bronze

  • Fill furnace with material

  • Casting pot and furnace (cleaning out)

  • Managing stock control and keeping the warehouse clean

  • Putting bronze waste in containers

  • Keeping the furnace platform clean

  • Frequent use of forklift and overhead crane, if attested is a plus



This process will all be explained to you step by step. This is a training course of min. 6 months. You will have to give yourself time to get to know the whole process.
Willingness is very important here.

Your profile

For a company in the region of Eeklo, we are looking for a candidate for the vacancy of Operator at the metal furnace.

These are the required qualifications for this vacancy:

  • Have technical insight

  • Be able to calculate percentages, this is well explained

  • Work independently and think proactively

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Sense of responsibility for your work

  • Team player and able to communicate well

  • Experience with forklift truck and rolling bridge is a plus (certificate also required)



The most important thing for our client is the desire to work.
It is not a monotonous job, you learn every day.
Someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty (literally, because you are working at an oven).

Company information

Our customer, a regular added value here in Eeklo, is a specialised foundry of industrial castings mainly in ductile and lamellar cast iron. And has been since 1923.
Several generations on, they decided to expand the foundry in 2012 to include the production of bronze pieces for the glass moulding industry.

Their foundry staff has many years of experience in producing castings for various customers in Europe and beyond. This for both piecework and series production.

What is the application process there? Well, very simple.
If both parties, client and candidate, are interested, an interview is scheduled at the company.
During the interview, you will be given a guided tour and a small test.

That same day (usually) or the day after, you will know immediately whether you can start or not.
Of course, you have to want it too.
