Job description

What is the purpose of your job?
As a multipurpose worker/fruit layer, you will be responsible for assisting in production, including washing up, and decorating cakes and placing fruit on them. You will have the opportunity to use your creative skills to embellish our cakes after completing your training. Your duties will also include distributing cakes.

Duties:

  • Assist in the production of cakes, including helping with dishes.

  • Decorating cakes according to stated style guidelines.

  • Placing fruit decorations on cakes with precision and attention to detail.

  • Contributing creatively to improve the appearance of our pastry products.

  • Distributing cakes to shops



Your profile

What is your profile?

Education:

  • Minimum secondary education or equivalent

  • You will receive training to decorate cakes and apply fruit decorations



Experience:

  • No previous experience required, but passion for baking and decorating is a plus



Knowledge and Skills:

  • Creative skills to decorate cakes and place fruit in an aesthetic manner

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Willingness to work night and weekend hours



Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in bakery environments is a plus

  • Skill in working with pastry decorations



Working conditions:

  • This job requires night and weekend work, your working day starts at 11pm and lasts until 9am

  • You will work in the bakery at the Bruges location

  • The work environment can be hectic

Our client started as a simple bakery with a shop. The commitment and their work force, together with the six children ensured expansion. today, they have several branches in Bruges. From the premises in the industrial area, dozens of deliveries still leave daily to the various sales outlets, restaurants, hotels, etc. A shop was also built next to the progressive bakery. Through close family cooperation, the bakery has grown into a large artisan business with 40 employees.
With their 40 varieties of bread, they are undoubtedly at the top. There are already 8 varieties of rye bread, multigrain bread, wholemeal bread, delicatessen bread, farmhouse bread, farmhouse bread.... And then a wide range of delicious specialities : oat rolls, champions, sandwiches, butter cakes, baguettes, coronnes, etc. Of course, sweethearts and real candy lovers also found plenty of treats: deliciously fresh butter truffles, marzipan and during the season (Saint Nicholas and Easter) fine chocolate figures. And, of course, pastries in all shapes, sizes and flavours all year round.
