Job description



  • You install, maintain, and repair the cladding of sloping roofs and facades mainly made of tiles and (artificial) slates.

  • You interpret plans and are able to set out and align the roof.

  • Before applying the roof cladding, you install insulation, apply underlayment and battens, and provide space for skylights, solar panels, and ventilation systems as needed.

  • After covering, you finish the edges, the ridge, the hip ends, and valley gutters. You connect roofing with skylights and dormers and seal roof penetrations.

  • You fabricate and install gutters and rainwater drainage systems.

  • You erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and safety equipment.

  • You work outdoors on construction sites in all kinds of weather, in both new construction and restoration.

  • You primarily work with a team. You have a good sense of balance.

  • You work at heights and often in uncomfortable positions, such as kneeling or bending.

  • You strictly follow safety rules and work harmoniously with other tradespeople. Your working hours are regular, but may vary depending on assignments and weather conditions.
