Job description
With your job as team leader greenhouse, you will play a crucial role in the success of the tomato business together with the company management.
By working closely together and being proactive, you can optimise the company's performance and promote the cultivation of high-quality tomatoes.
Initially, you will actively work on the shop floor and learn all aspects of tomato cultivation.
You will perform various tasks, such as: controlling aphids, maintaining tomato plants, picking or cutting tomatoes and disease control.
Once you have mastered this, you can take on more responsibilities:
You provide a positive working environment where staff are motivated and engaged
You give clear instructions and expectations to staff
You conduct regular consultations and evaluation interviews to discuss and improve staff performance
You ensure that all staff adhere to the company's quality policy, with an emphasis on hygiene and work instructions
You monitor the quality of tomatoes and identify opportunities for improvement
You make adjustments where necessary to ensure better quality of tomatoes
You advise employees on execution and work together to optimise work processes
You ensure optimal staff capacity and productivity to achieve the company's objectives
You initiate improvement actions based on production results and feedback from employees
You keep weekly cultivation records to track the progress and health of tomato plants
You perform crop monitoring to identify potential problems such as diseases early on
You monitor and manage feed water to ensure tomato plants receive the right nutrients

- Advice and Optimisation:
You advise employees on execution and work together to optimise work processes
You ensure optimal staff capacity and productivity to achieve the company's objectives

- Cultivation registration and monitoring:
You keep weekly cultivation records to track the progress and health of tomato plants
You perform crop monitoring to identify potential problems such as diseases early on
You monitor and manage feed water to ensure tomato plants receive the right nutrients
Your profile
As a team leader greenhouse, you will have the following profile:
- Willingness to learn and specific interest in tomato cultivation
- Basic knowledge of English and fluent Dutch
- Strong interest in the sector and openness to various tasks
- Driven, motivated, creative and hands-on mentality
- The fact that you will manage around 20 people in low season and around 40 in high season indicates that you should be able to adapt your leadership and organisational skills to the changing workforce throughout the year
- Initial work experience in the vegetable/plant sector is a plus, but not a must (everything can be learned)
