What you get as a local train driver/ Shunting driver:
- Paid theoretical training from the beginning of February in Ghent, practical training in Zeebrugge
- A permanent contract immediately
- Starting salary: € 2.966,08 gross
- After 6 months of further training: € 3.479,21 gross, with further salary increases based on seniority
- A functional company car with fuel card (after the training)
- Allowances depending on your performance (between €1,32/h, €6,57/h, €8,22/h, €9,8/h, €16,7/h),
- Allowances for unforeseen duties:
- Small call-out (change of more than 60 minutes in a planned duty: 50 euros)
- Large call-out (unforeseen duty requested less than 24 hours in advance, where you agree to do this: 75 euros)
- Skill allowances:
- Train inspection certificate: 214,17 euros
- Shunting remote control and rail/road vehicle: 160,63 euros
- Mentor: 107,09 euros
- Salary increases with years of service and skills
- Meal vouchers of 9 euros (€ 6,91 net) per day worked
- Eco-vouchers of 250 euros per year

You will work in the Zeebrugge region and the port area. Depending on your assigned workplace, you will be active in stations, marshalling yards and at customers' sites in the port. After your training, your permanent workplace will be Ghent or Zeebrugge.
The first step in the selection process consists of online CEBIR tests that you will receive by email. If you pass these, you will then answer the final questions via HireVue. These will also be sent to you by email.
As a Shunting Driver (shunting driver), you have a varied and responsible job:
- You assemble trains and carry out shunting movements
- You drive locomotives to transport goods to and from customers
- You carry out safety checks, basic maintenance, brake tests and technical inspections
- You prepare your locomotive for departure and follow the safety procedures meticulously
- You work both independently and as part of a team with shunters and operators
- The variety in tasks and work environment
