As a baker: Your job involves preparing bread, special bread, luxury bread, and rolls. To do this, you use flour or semi-prepared products and other ingredients, as well as, most often, mechanical devices, such as a mechanical kneader, a scale, a divider, and a controlled fermentation chamber. You prepare or participate in the preparation of dishes for banquets or catering, such as quiches or pizzas. You plan the work and prepare it, you gather the necessary materials and preserve the finished products and main ingredients. Your work environment is an artisanal or industrial bakery, where work generally starts very early in the morning, or on a shift system depending on the type of bakery. The pace of work has peaks, especially during certain times of the year. You apply appropriate lifting and hoisting techniques. The work environment is often dusty, hot, and humid, but thanks to technical progress, the risk of respiratory problems and allergies is decreasing. You strictly apply hygiene and safety rules, as well as the instructions for using the machines.
