Hey, the sun and the good weather make you think of the beach? Would you like to go but there are too many kilometers?
No worries ! We have prepared a list of some beautiful beaches in Belgium, some right near you, in your region!
On the sand or on the grass, it doesn't matter! Hot water, friends and have fun!

1. De Panne

Located in the southwest of Belgium, near the border with France is considered one of the most popular resorts in the country. A beach tram passes from De Panne along the coast, to the final stop the town Knokke-Heist, on the border with the Netherlands.

One of the oldest nature reserves in Flanders is the Westhoek reservation which you can visit here. It is an unaltered 11-kilometer dune area, reminiscent of Sahara.

The beach at De Panne is extremely wide and you can walk to the border with France. Here, for example, you can discover the Parrot Dune just across the border. A beautiful family day out is a day trip to Plopsaland, where dozens of attractions await you. For the little ones there are beautiful playgrounds and a zoo. For older children and adventurers, there are roller coasters and other challenging attractions.

2. Oostende

Located on the west coast of Belgium, in the vicinity of the town with the same name ,is one of the best beaches in the country. A trip to Ostend from Brussels by car, bus or train will not take more than an hour, you can also use the services of the Seaside tram, which runs along the coast from De Panne to Knokke-Heist.

Lovers of modern and contemporary art should not miss a visit to Mu.ZEE. At Fort Napoleon you will learn a lot about the history of the city over the years and it is also fun to visit with your children. And architecture enthusiasts will be delighted at the Venetian Galleries and the Royal Galleries. Henri Maquet designed the gallery and they refer to the classical architecture of Venice. You can also admire a statue of King Leopold II who ordered the construction of the galleries and you can take a pleasant walk to the Japanese Garden. With the kids it's fun to take a look at the Mercator sailing ship. The huge ship is almost 80 meters long and no less than 15 sails. The ship has sailed all over the world and on board you can listen the exciting adventures of Mercator.

Young children have zero risks, because the pond is mostly shallow.

7. Het Sint Annastrand(Antwerpen)

As in the past, Sint Annekesstrand is a leisure center in Antwerp. In addition to the city's permanent beach along the Scheldt, you will also find various catering units, an outdoor swimming pool (all open in the summer months), a mini golf course, a campsite (Camping De Molen), a harbor, various play areas in Sint Annabos. In the summer months, everything is almost busy around the beach. Locals come to lie on the beach or on the pier, eat and drink in the many restaurants behind the pier or take a walk on the promenade. Very popular is Plaasj Kaffee, which is right next to the car parks at the end of Gloriantlaan. A partially covered terrace, a location with an excellent view and the necessary entertainment in the evening make it one of the hotspots on Linkeroever.

In the winter months it is much quieter, but definitely worth a visit. Enjoy a breath of fresh air on the beach or enjoy a snack and a pint of beer all year round.

9. Maboge Beach(Belgian Luxembourg)

Swimmers can enjoy pure and clear water in which to dive.

For history buffs, it is good to know that the region was covered by a large oak forest. In the seventeenth century, this forest, combined with the exceptional quality of the water of Ourthe, allowed the installation of numerous tanneries in La Roche and Houffalize. This very specific industry existed until the twentieth century.
